I finally decided to go ahead and do a "Buy My Store" sale at Divine Digital. Personally, I think it's a great deal. You get all of my product, Personal Use & Commercial Use for $25.00. Here's how it works....

You purchase the $25.00 download and in the download is the code and instructions on how to use it. The coupon code is good for 6 uses and 30 days. What this means is you could log in, purchase 1/4 of the products in my store and then start downloading. I'm also selling something that I started last year, and maybe it was just a little bit late in the season when I got the idea. I made a downloadable product for "Shopping Books."

You could purchase the downloadable product, print everything and put it together by the directions that I included. I made one for all the women in my family and they loved them. So this year, I decided that I wanted to get started earlier. I also made a decision to sell them completed as well as in a kit that you can do it yourself with. I have 4 different styles (so far) and I'm working on a 5th one now. It's really great for keeping straight what you have purchased for who and also, when you fold your inside pieces, it makes pockets for your receipts. It's a handy little book. I've also gotten a couple of new PU/CU products up in my store. They match my Polka Dot Espresso Kit that I launched last Friday. They are styles for PSCS3. I created a felt style, a crayon style and a glitter style.

Breast Cancer, Halloween and new stuff

It seems like it takes me forever to post to my blog and then when I do, I have about a million things to talk about. I need to stop waiting so long...

There are so many things going on for me in October this year. Normally, this is a time that I can just relax, enjoy the fall weather, have some hot cocoa and visit apple hill. This year is a little different. We've moved into a new house and unpacking is just a major pain, I have several new ventures going and I'm going to be a grandma soon. It's a lot.

First, I'm part of the Download a Day at Divine Digital. I love doing this because you get a chance to work with 2 other people on one swatch to create something within the same theme. It's just a cool way for everyone to show their individual creations from the same idea. So for October we picked "Falling Into Autumn" for our theme. Here is a mini preview of the kit and below it is the full preview:

Overall, the kit is pretty cool.

Divine Digital has also started another new, cool project. It's called PROject COLOR and it takes place every Monday. Basically, all the designers recieve the same swatch, but we make whatever we want with it. I went nuts. I thought I would really have a hard time with this, but it was so easy. So every Monday, watch for a new color swatch and a whole group of new kits.

And lastly, here is a sneak peak at what's coming to Divine Digital in November....
Now on to other things...

I have my Etsy store that has been keeping me pretty busy lately. Actually, I have 2. My pendant shop has been doing pretty well the past few days. Because October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, I want to put up some previews of a few charms that I have been selling since I opened my store. $1 of each sale goes to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research.

They are just fun and meant to be worn on a bracelet. They are double sided (which you probably already figured out from the pictures)

I also have 70+ new Halloween pendants out....

I figure in about a week or so I will be uploading all of my Christmas pendants. I have a LOT of different styles and they are very reasonably priced. Personally, I think they are great for stocking stuffers! AND....I take special requests like names, photos, vacation photos, weddings, etc. You name it and I'll get one together for you!

It's all about the real life....

Life has been difficult lately. I mean REALLY, honestly difficult. Over the last several months, I have realized a lot of different things that have caused me to reflect on my life and how I live it. I realized that I blog a lot more for my business than because I have something to say. I used to blog all the time about my struggles with my weight and my life. I have a pretty good idea why I stopped writing about things that were personal .... I was so concerned about what someone else might say, or how they might think of me as a person or how I deal with my life. Generally, I don't care what people think.....generally. So I honestly can't figure out why it was so important for me to start censoring what I was typing and never even consider what I would say to people that were standing right in front of me.

After several days of pondering this, I have decided to go back to blogging about myself. I'll still add my sales and new stuff on ETSY, but I want to be able to let it all out and say things I need to say. Blogging is therapeutic for me and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way.

So for my very first "I really am a person, not a business" blog post....I want to put in my disclaimer.....

I used to write a blog called "My Butt Looking Cookie Day" on AOL, which can no longer be viewed.....probably a good thing though. It was about the way I envisioned myself and how very delusional I really was. I knew I was overweight, but for some reason, I had it stuck in my head that it really wasn't that bad. Gimme a break. Anyway, one day I purchased a new pair of jeans. I was getting ready to go shopping the following morning and went into my bathroom to finish up right before I left. I had full length mirrors on my closet and for whatever reason, I truly have no idea, I pulled out a mirror and decided to look at my butt in my new jeans. I was thinking.....these jeans are cool, they must look really hot..... I held the mirror up, positioned it just right and realized that my butt was HUGE. I could use it for walking billboard space and probably be able to pay my rent every month just off of that income. I just stood there, dumbfounded. I set the mirror down and tried to figure out in my head where I had come up with this deluded thought of what I really looked like. I was sad, I was dissapointed, and I was angry. So I marched myself right into the kitchen and ate a cookie...the only thing that would sooth away my frustration. And that's when it donned on me....this is NOT going to help the size of my butt nor is it going to help me feel better about myself. After that day of feeling miserable and having one cookie filled pity party after another, I decided that the only person that could take control of me was me. That's where my story started.....
I don't general censor myself and I'm not really for the faint at heart. I say what I feel in my life and that's what I am going to be doing here as well. Censoring myself is why I closed my blog and started holding in all of my frustration. That stops now.
I get wordy. I don't know how to stop that, it just happens.
I sometimes can share too much information....TMI. I'll try to post a warning first and I apologize in advance if I can't remember to do that.
I cuss. I'll make a big attempt to keep it to a minimum or not at all....but I cuss.

I'm open to comments, critiszm, and opinons. If you say something that pisses me off, don't be surprised if you are the topic of my next post. Generally though, this is just about me and what I'm doing and getting out whatever I feel like I need to talk about.

So here it goes, todays "Real Life" post.....

Since March of this year, my life has been turned upside down, shaken, not stirred. It's been many many things, nothing catastrophic, just stuff. My brother and my son both moved in with us just days apart for different reasons. I don't have issues with that at all....it's just stuff. Then my daughter graduated high school and told me a week later that she was pregnant. I tried to be very supportive by not throwing up in her hair while I hugged her and told her it would be ok. It's her life, she can do with it as she pleases, but I know from experience the struggles she is facing. The bank that holds my home loan has been more than just a little difficult to deal with. When all of this stuff started happening with the housing market and the banks stopped lending we got caught up in a mess. A year later, we are still dealing with it and getting no where with the bank. At this point, I just want them to tell me what my house payment it so I can make it and move on with my life. They can't seem to do that so I have taken a step in a different direction to force them to do that. The stress from that alone is unbelievable. How hard is it for a bank to say "You pay us X and you still live there?" Seriously???? It doesn't seem like rocket science, but what do I know?

So that's my mini version of the messes that are currently working. I wanted to give a rundown so that when I get excited about something or go off on a rant...you could have a clue about what I am talking about.

To answer your question....yes, my butt is still there...nothing has changed and maybe it's gotten a little larger, a little flatter or a little lumpier. The cookies are still there occasionally too.

So I ask you....

When you know that you can't control everything in your life, how do you get motivated to work on the one thing you CAN?

Some AWESOME Sales on New Products

Well, I'm back. I keep trying to get better about blogging, but it always seems like the last thing I seem to get too...when it really should be the first.

There are some AMAZING new things in my ETSY store!! I'm really excited to show them off. First though, I want to promote a book that I think isn't getting nearly enough attention....

Most of us on this planet have had issues with our weight. I'll be the first to admit, I'm one of them. I've struggled most of my adult life. I've done all the weightloss programs with some success, but never followed all the way through. So when Tallula MOM came up with this wonderful idea for a diet journal, I was completely on board. The journal has everything. Places to log your progress, areas for photo updates, measurements and plenty of room to journal how you are feeling when you are having trouble or maybe when you have found something that tastes amazing and have few calories. No matter how you track your diet journey, this book will be a wonderful addition.

These were probably the most fun to make out of everything so far! There are 2 different sets of Monster Magnets and I also have 2 sets of Garden style magnets. One of the Monster magnet sets has reminders for clean & dirty dishes, dr. appt., don't forget and others. They are a cute little gift.

I've also been busy sewing. I've only managed to create a tote and a wristlet, but they are both wonderful. The tote is great for small craft projects that you want to take with you someplace or you could easily use it to take your lunch to work with you.

And finally...this is very cool. If I had a sister, I'd keep this book for myself. It would make a great Christmas gift. Fill it with wonderful pictures and memories and give it to your sister or take a weekend and fill it together. Either way, it will be a wonderful memory keeper for years to come. I made it!

So I skipped a couple of days, but I had good reason.

I've added several new products to my Etsy store, I've been working on a new Digital Kit and then there is some general life stuff shoved in there too.

My Etsy store update has probably been the most time consuming, but totally worth it! Rather than trying to show you everything, I'm going to give you some sneek peaks instead....plus it takes up less room LOL.

This is an AWESOME album called "Memories in the Making." There are a lot of photo mats, journal spots and clips, just in case you need more room. If you want to check it out, click HERE.

This is a Birthday card that I made from an idea I saw in the book. Of course I took the idea and turned it into something totally different, but I was still inspired by the book just the same. If you want to check it out, click HERE.

HA! 2 Days in a ROW!

I actually made it two days in a row. Aren't you shocked??? Yeah, me too.

I even managed to upload 2 new products in my ETSY store. I'm on a roll now.

Anyway, I created one book with the idea of "It's all about us!" in mind. There are several different sizes and shapes for the pages and lots of places for notes and journaling. It was created from a book I purchased from Kaiser Craft. They use a different medium than chipboard, so the book is much more sturdy. The edges have been painted and sanded to give it a very finished feel. If you are interested in the book, you can get it HERE.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again....I'm a bad, bad blogger! But this time, I think I might have a reason....

I've been working hard on a ton of awesome new products for my ETSY store. It was kind of slow going at first. I had so many ideas I felt like my head was just swimming. But then I sat down and started to get myself together. I started gathering papers and digital kits and elements that would all mesh together and found books that I liked to start making. Today is just the tip of the iceburg. I was going to participate in a Craft Fair on Labor Day weekend, but there have been some family issues that have come up so I have decided to push that aside and list everything in my ETSY store. It's going to take a while, so stick with me. I'll make sure to get at least a couple of new things up everyday and I'll make sure to post here about them too!

Well, I'm really falling down on the "Blogger" job aren't I? Guess I need to really step it up here.

First things first. Divine Digital is hosting a "Facebook Block Party" which includes several of the designers, me being one of them.

So, it's official! I'm a bad blogger!!!

We've had some upheaval in my house. Nothing serious, but enough to cause some adjustments that have taken some time. Enough about that!

I've had some new kits in my stores and I've started creating scrapbook albums in several different styles and selling them in my Etsy store. I kind of started this store as an experiment not only to see if my stuff would sell, but to see how interested in doing these things I could stay...I tend to stray occasionally....ok, often. So yesterday I got to work, checked my email and I had made my first sale. It was a really cute Disney Vacation album. I was incredibly excited! So I have uploaded 2 more albums to my store along with an album that I uploaded when I set the store up. I also have an album listed that was created more toward little girls, but I didn't add any word art or anything like that, so you can kind of use it for whatever you want too. This one has 6 pages on the inside.

This is basically what I have been up to lately.

OH! Wait!! This probably keeps slipping my mind because it started at the beginning of March and it took a little while to come out, but I am now a Contributing Editor for Scrapbook Dimensions Magazine! It's pretty cool and a challenge to say the least!!

Creating these books has brought up an interesting question for me. As a digital scrapbook designer, I would be fine with someone using my products to create something like this and sell it in their own Etsy store. So I started sending out emails to designers that have products that I love. I received an email back from one designer that doesn't allow use of her products for anything that is sold on the internet. Hmmm.... Ok, obviously, that's her decision but wouldn't it make more sense to allow use of your products for these types of things if you already allow Scrap for hire use? I guess it just confused me because to me, the designer is making the sale which means money in their pockets, and I also offer to put a direct link to their digital store in my etsy description. To me, even is someone doesn't buy my album (or whatever it is) they may still like the design and go purchase the kit from that designer. It's like free advertising for the designer AND they make the money from the purchase of the kit. If anyone has any idea why you wouldn't want someone to use a product that way, please let me know. Maybe there is a reason that I just havent' managed to come up with on my own. I understand that some designers in this industry or very much about the "competetion" but really, people need the competetion or they will never need to work any harder to get any further. It's just my opinion.

Winter's here......Winter's here..........

YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As you can see by my new header, I am so ready for winter and all the cute, cuddly things that go with it. I know, I know, it seems like I just passed right by Thanksgiving, but I've been working on a new kit - yes, the header is pieces parts of it and no, it's not available just yet - and couldn't resist using it for a new look on the blog. So before I launch into winter, let me just say a few words about Thanksgiving so that no one is offended that the day is not given its due. Thanksgiving in our family is a day to get together and enjoy a great turkey (one deep fried and one BBQ'd - yum!) dinner and spend some time catching up on what's going on in each others lives. It's a day we count our blessings, not the least of which, we all made it through another year. But most importantly - it's followed by a 3-day weekend and shop-till-you-drop Friday!!! I know, I'm not being very "thankful" sounding and if I sit back and really think about it I know that there are a lot of things in my thankful column. Through Tallula Moon Designs I have met a lot of new people and made new friends. I guess there's something about scraping that brings together the nicest people, who share interesting ideas and projects that inspire others. Personally, I think there's a lot of crappy stuff going on out in the world and taking the time to sit down and enjoy my family scrap book is the best way to relive some of our families best moments. Sounds awfully simplistic, but it's true. Take a couple of minutes and think "thankful" and see what you come up with. Then scrap it and enjoy it later.

OK - now on to WINTER!!!! Our weather has finally started turning after a long Indian Summer and I'm so glad. Who can resist furry boots and colorful scarves wrapped around little ones out in the snow -or big ones out in the snow, for that matter!!! There's just something so inviting about snugglying up in front of the fire with a cup of something hot and a really good book. Tallula Mom lives up in the Sierra Nevada Foothills and is counting the days until it snows. All over the house are little signs that read "Let It Snow". She and Nephew Jake have spent every winter for the last six years - he's six - sitting on the back deck, wrapped in a warm blanket, watching it snow. If I could take a picture, that would be a moment I'd scrap and remember. Do you take advantage of the small things and then remember later how good it felt to have that moment? Isn't that what scraping is all about - having the moment and scraping to remember? Maybe that should be the goal for this winter season, search out the good times, whether Thanksgiving, Christmas, days in the snow or baking holiday treats, scrap them and have it all to remember when the temp reaches 100°. Nothing makes you feel better than to relive memories that make you smile or laugh out loud, and nothing does that better than scrapping.

This is such a fun time of year - I still remember how it took weeks to decide what I wanted to be for Halloween - one year I was a lumberjack with a beard!! - it was the same with my kids and it's the same with nephew, Jake, the T-ball player. Kids love Halloween, adults love Halloween!!! So why not scrap the best Halloween yet so that all your little, or not so little, ninjas and princesses always remember what it was like to dress up in that one special costume for one scary night and yell "Trick or Treat".

It's time to settle in......

Fall is finally in the air and I am so glad. I love this time of year when the weather turns cool and you feel like settling in and doing some serious scrapping. Having a daughter who is a senior this year, we embarked to find the perfect setting for some senior pictures. We ended up at a beautiful park that had been a power house during the Sierra Nevada gold rush and the pictures we took were outstanding. I have already used a couple of my fall kits to put together a collagé of pictures for her school year book - and for her to show friends. (And wouldn't you know, I'm now being approached to take senior pictures for them!!!) Then I started thinking of all the kits I have designed that could be used for so much more than the single purpose I had in mind - Halloween pumpkins, snowflakes, etc. There are so many things in our day-to-day lives that should be taken note of and not just enjoyed and forgotten. Bet you have some of those moments in your lives too.....Anyway, I've decided to slow down (just a bit) and take note of some of those rare moments, hold them in a picture and scrap a page that will always remind me what made that one special moment so precious. So take a breath, take a long look around and find that special something to scrap. The enjoyment and relaxation will make it all worthwhile.

School Zone is here!!!

Yep, "School Zone" is up and ready to scrap great memories of those first - or second or third...... - school happenings that you just don't want to forget. So many things in our kids school days pass us by (although Tallula Mom still has the a picture of me on the first day of kindergarten with my arm in a cast, in my new sun dress and snazzy shoes!) and as the years pile up, we can't remember what each special event was.

"School Zone" is perfect for making the best scrapping pages to add to any memory or even baby book. You can find "School Zone" at Scrap Professor under "Products". After Seeing "School Zone", Tallula Mom has decided to scrap the special things she has saved from my brother and my school experiences. She said maybe getting them into an album will get rid of the box in the top of the closet and she'll be able to enjoy all the wonderful things we brought to her with bright smiley faces. So, think of a bright smiley face you always want to remember and take a look at "School Zone". Who knows, maybe YOU'LL figure a way to get that ceramic dish/ashtray/thingie memorialized.

IIII''''''''mmmmmmm bbbbaaaaaccccckkkkkk!!! I really wish I could tell you that I've been vaca-ing in some exotic local, have a golden tan and am wearing a delicate ankle bracelet of small seashells - ha! so not true!!! Unfortunately, I was overrun this past month with painting - the interior house kind that has to been done but doesn't really do much for you until your Mom comes over and comments that you've finally covered the slobber marks on the wall that Daisy (our American Bulldog) has left behind. There's still more to do - isn't there always - but I was reminded by Tallula Mom that I hadn't been blogging like I should so I thought I'd hop on and fill you all in on what's going on. Between painting jags I have managed to design three new kits that are so cute you'll be looking for something or someone to scrap these for. The first is called "Baby Nate" and is for that adorable baby boy.

Not only does Baby Nate have all the requisite papers, tags, frames, etc.....it also has everything you need for the best baby book ever - from that before birth picture to family tree to school days. There are a total of six kits for the very best baby book that will keep memories alive for a life time.

AND, not to be left out, I am now working on "Baby Zoe" for that cute-as-a-bug baby girl. "Baby Zoe" isn't available just yet, but I'll let you know the minute it's ready. Also, coming up in the next day or so is - and just in time for back to school - "School Zone". This is the perfect kit for scrapping those school days memories so nice to look back on.

And hasn't the summer flown??? It's so hard to believe that Fall is just around the corner - of course, we have to get rid of the 100 degree weather! - with Halloween coming up. I can't wait to get started on a new Halloween kit to scrap the scariest collection of gobblins ever....but that's another blog.

(Ok, not really that last thing, but you get the idea) BUT, this is kind of cute:

Yeah, I don't hardly think so. I don't do punk music, but lets just analyze this a little.

"And you've pretty much decided that most normal things aren't for you." Ok, I can say with brutal honesty, this is true. Normal doesn't excite me, normal translates to "average." It's possible I don't know "normal" from a hole in the ground though....who does?

"You're creative, expressive, and likely to do things yourself. " This could take a lot of explanation. Obviously I love to create. Expressive, yeah, I tend to get my point across, good or bad. "Likely to do things yourself." Ok, I have to say yes. I am a control freak and to me, that's what that says.....I could be wrong.

"You are a rebel and a fighter. You'll defend your point of view to anyone." I don't want to say that my opinion is the ONLY opinion, but when I feel strongly about something, yeah, I'll defend it until I get my point across.

So I guess this little quiz isn't too far off the mark, except for the punk music. Does anyone really listen to that stuff anyway? Probably. Oh boy, I sound like one of those parents that think Rock-N-Roll is for hippies or something. Not MY parents..my parents were pretty music cool. My mom and I listened to the same music until I moved out and I still listen to the music she did when I was a kid. As a matter of fact, I have a file on my iPod called "Kelli the Kid" for all the music from when I was a kid. Original huh? Yep, I'm creative and I couldn't think up a better name. What does that tell you? I sort of listen to some of the same stuff as my daughter, but some of it is just irritating and I am not good with "bubble gum" type music. But i do have to say, I'm REALLY bad with the "band" (and I will use the term loosely) across the street. I remember listening to heavy metal in high school, but you could understand the words. I don't mean the lyrics made sense because lets face it, they didn't, but you could understand the words. The "band" across the street SCREAMS! I don't mean they are loud playing musicians...they SCREAM like Satan has taken over their bodies and won't give them back. I can't understand the words because ALL the words sound like RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Yeah, too much.

I guess this is my little rampage for the day....don't ask me why. Let me know you've been here and have a ROCKIN day.

I'm so thrilled that everyone enjoyed the blog train. I love them too and it stinks that it's over.

I really hope I make it to day 11.

Yeah, I know, day 6 is missing. I have a great reason....even though it's irritating beyond belief.

So yesterday was my daughters 17th birthday. Like a twit, I made an appointment for a perm at 9:00 a.m. It seemed like a GREAT idea at the time, which was a month ago. I figured 9 in the morning, PLENTY of time! Yeah, NOT! I got there at 8:45, we started right at 9 and it took her until 11:30 to roll my hair. I had WELL OVER 100 rods in my hair, which is almost to my waist. WOW, I really thought it would never end. So at 11:30, she gets the solution on and I sit for 20 and then we continue to go through all the motions, etc. I didn't leave there until almost 2 pm. It's 45 minutes in good traffic to get back to my house, but TOTALLY worth it. So I get going, call Chuck and he says he's picking up ice cream and already picked up Kylies pink iPod. THANK YOU! I was really sweating that. What a guy!!! So I get home and Kylie is at the movies seeing "Dark Knight" (which she came home and said was WAY to much blood and violence for my 6 year old nephew ....good to know). We decided that while she was gone, we would pick up her truck and park it down the street. She wouldn't think a thing about it and it would save us some time. So everyone starts to get there, we have dinner, she opens presents and I went outside to make sure I had a good spot for pictures. My nephew runs to the door, rings the doorbell and runs off. (wonder if I just taught him something new and fun to do) My mom walks my daughter out the door and Kylie is TOTALLY confused and has no clue what's going on. Well Chuck had moved the truck, opened the doors and turned on the stereo. She was TOTALLY blown away.

This grin has been planted on her face since last night. I can't believe her face isn't frozen that way....but now that I think about it...maybe it is.
But believe it or not...this is not why I'm late....

So I come up to the craft room last night, tired, but ready to get posted and up and ON TIME again. No internet. Hmmm. Ok. So I re-connect. No internet. This went on for quite a while before I was ready to scream and stomped out of the craft room and went to bed.

Got up this morning and the internet was connected (it's wireless) and I thought COOL, I'm in business now. Yep, all the way up until I touched the computer...then no internet. I think that the sound that came out was not unlike a growling sound. So I went downstairs to do coffee. It gets going and after 20 minutes with no "I'm done" beep, I check the coffee maker. Yeah, theres about 2 cups brewed, and steam galore. Hmmmm. Messed with the coffee pot....nothing. So I got a little bent out of shape and decided that I was going to boil water in the kettle, and pour it through the filter and coffee and fill the pot the rest of the way. In theory, it seems like this should work....but it really didn't. It took FOREVER and by the time I hit 8 cups, I plucked the pot out, poured everyone a cup, shoved it back in and stomped off....back upstairs to the internet. Started messing with it, and it would connect and immediately disconnect. Downstairs I go. Hit reset,back upstairs...I have internet.....uh, nope, not anymore....downstairs...reset....upstairs...internet....nope...not any more. CRAP! I finally called Chuck on his cell phone...downstairs and asked him to reset the internet. I was more than done with the up-down thing. He reset and I was on. I got a post done, was on about 8 minutes and then nothing. I admit it...I had a tantrum and I SCREAMED at the computer....and stomped out of the room. Went and took a shower and went over to my grandparents to hook up their internet. I guess this was just my day. Theirs went off very well, other than there are 9bajillion cords behind their computer desk. So I got gas, and came home, more determined to make this internet work. I'm not good with sending smoke signals so the internet MUST work for me. FINALLY, we figured out that the router in the panel downstairs has a loose connection. As long as no one touches it, we're in business. Hopefully I won't go to post this I be offline.....ya'll will be able to hear me scream no matter where you live.

Where you can get more, and more and more.

I know by now you have to think that I am over the top corny with these rhymes. Well, I can say with total....BRUTAL honesty, I do NOT know where this is coming from or WHY I keep trying to come up with something new. Seriously, do you need the rhyme? Probably not. But in the back of my mind, I keep thinking....if this makes someone giggle, just a little, that might be having a crappy day, it's totally worth it to be seen as the designer that can't rhyme...but at least she tries. (Yeah, it's a stretch even for me)

So, I've been working even more on the kit to go with this album and it's been SO easy to create I can't believe it. As a matter of fact, I think I might have to split the kit in two because it's getting just a little out of control. Which brings up an interesting question....how much it too much. How many papers are too many for one kit? How much is too much, meaning it will be a kit you might love, but the price is just to much to go for? Obviously, there are numbers that are ridiculously obvious, but is 6.00 too much for a kit with 20 papers and 30+ elements? Lemme know what you think. I'm interested to know.

Yep, I'm a rhymer... uh huh....just wait for day 5....what is going to rhyme with that and sound like a train? (I'm open to suggestions)

I love Blog Trains. They are so much fun and it's just so cool to see all the really great things that everyone comes up with.

Ok, it's official!!! I need a personal assistant (which is just code for a Ninja like person to kick me in the butt when I forget to do something and then run off really fast in case I have an attitude that day).

I apologize...AGAIN!

So I read on the internet that the more that you know...the more wrinkles you get in your brain (I read it on the internet...it MUST be true). So here is my theory. If you start learning or trying to remember to many things at once, your brain doesn't have enough time to make the full new wrinkle, so it has to shove some other piece of information out (which is where forgetting comes from) to make the new information fit. It's just a theory...I doubt I'll make medical history with it.

On to the FUN!!! Obviously, you get the last two pages at the same time. And I'll keep them up for a few days, just in case.

Hey there - question - I do Digi-Scrap 4 Hire for a living - and all my stuff is digital (flattened images) and produced in videos burned to DVD that play in DVD players. You specified that your items can only be used in stuff that is printed out and assembled by hand - and I don't do paper. So, I need to know on that - because I need to take you out of my Scrap 4 Hire folder if I can only use your stuff for layouts that are printed... Sorry - wanted to clarify - first time I've come across a designer who says they are Scrap 4 hire friendly but designated it had to be printed out.

Go ahead, Melanie, and use my kits for your DVD's. Again, this is such a strange area and the internet has definitely opened a can of worms where "copyright" is concerned and we designers are just trying to protect our work.

Scrap for Hire/Others???

I've been sitting here working on kits for the new store and I started thinking about the ways these products are used by you all - or ya'll, depending on where you(a'll) are. We all know that you can buy my kits and make absolutely beautiful scenarios for your most beloved pictures. But I've been asked a couple of times about "Scrap for Hire" and "Scrap for Others", and there seems to be just a little confusion about how it all works. So I'm going to pass along the best explaination I can give - it may be just a little confusing but if you have any questions, contact me and I'll try again.

Now, you all know how I feel about piracy - ARG! (see 2/28/08 blog on the lowdown scoundrels) - so because these kits are my babies, and they have taken a lot of time to create, I would appreciate that they be used as intended. So here goes:

The no's - you are not allowed to sell cutout/assemble kits, magnetic sheet, window or transparency clings, iron-on sheets, frosting sheets, decoupage sheets, etc. Anything you sell must be completed by YOUR OWN HANDS and then sold as a complete item. A kit, whole or partial, is not a craft item. No digital format items of any kind - sold, given away or distributed - no, no, no. You can make one backup CD for your own use only.

The yes you can's - use Tallula Moon designs for handmade crafts that you sell (craft fairs, online websites or other venues) but not more than 200 hundred products using the same image or design per one calender year (and designer credit is appreciated here). You may create completed scrapbooking layouts, completed albums or greeting cards. All items must be completed paper items which are printed, cut and assembled BY YOUR OWN HANDS, including altered paint cans, custom candy wrappers, popcorn wrappers,t-shirts, quilt squares, jar labels, decoupaged wood items, indoor/outdoor signs, gift bags, etc., etc., etc.

Does that make sense? It's a strange issue that internet shopping has created and all designers have to deal with, but it all comes down to trust.

Now, on an up note - if you click HERE, a new ad for Your Digital Designers will pop up with some interesting things in the new store. At this time, only commercial use kits will be available at the new store, BUT I will continue to have all the other kits that you have come to know and love at the other stores just as before. Where have I been.......

You know, it occurred to me today that I haven't blogged since the beginning of the month - and wow! has this month flown. Seems like I was just using an umbrella in an icy cold downpour and now it's sunny and warm and I'm sneezing from all the flowers in bloom. But I have to tell you that I have not been idle......there is something special in the wind and no, it's not pollen! (well it is but that's not what I'm talking about.) I can't tell you right now, but come a little closer and I'll whisper......

A thought for the day....

I was sitting here thinking about all the things I need to do - and if you're anything like me there's a long list - and tried to think of just where to start. And the more I thought about all the things I need to do, the more I really didn't want to do any of them. It seems like lately there are so many things that I need to do - demands made by family, work, whatnot - that the things I LIKE to do are becoming a distant memory. And that's really very sad. We read all the time that women don't take time for themselves, that outside influences constantly direct our time and energy, and the busier I get the more I find that to be true. AND - can I honestly tell you??? - I have yet to use one of my own creations to scrap a project!!!! So, I have decided to set some priorities, get some things done, and find something really great to scrap. Every day things happen all around us, some big, some small, that could and should be remembered. And what better way than to scrap even one page to mark that event. So my thought is to carve out even just a few minutes a day, when I sit at my computer, to put together something that helps me remember the small things and makes me smile.
The thought for today? Take some time for you, do something that makes you smile.

Computer Down, Computer Down!!!

Can there be anything worse than having your computer die right in the middle of a great scrapping project??? Well, maybe having your computer die right in the middle of a great new scrapping design would qualify. I am so lost without my computer - and I have been lost for the last week. Finally diagnosing the problem as a bad power source, my wonderful brother (and I say that because he is the father of my favorite nephew, Jake, the T-ball player) replaced it and I was up and designing once more. These styles were created in Photoshop CS3 and I make no guarantees that they will work in other versions of Photoshop.

(Don't you wish they would get their acts together so that programs would work together, especially anything "Photoshop", regardless of CS3 or not??????)

And before I forget, I mentioned in the last blog that March 29th was Opening Day for my nephew, Jacob's, T-ball season. The whole family showed up to support the team (along with all the other players' families) and it was the best day. I got some really great pics to scrap that will keep memories of that day alive for a very long time. If you have never seen 5-6 years olds playing T-ball, go watch a game - even if you don't know one child there. It will make you laugh, bring tears to your eyes and give you a definite lift that few things in life will.

According to my calender, today is the first day of spring. And while I was deep in my winter blahs, a new and exciting thing was happening. My six-year-old nephew, Jacob, was starting T-ball. Yep, he is officially a member of the Shetland Yankees (evidently when you're in Pony League your team is named after horses in graduating sizes - go figure!) with a hat and shirt with his name on the back. So.....we loaded up the car and made for practice to see how our newest Mickey Mantle would make the grade. Welllllll, he wasn't exactly "Casey at the Bat" but he could run bases with the best of 'em. After an hour of watching a whole team of six-year-olds run around like wired monkeys, we came home with some great pictures to scrap for Jake's first foray into baseball. I have to say that because of all the designing I do, I don't scrap as much as I'd like to, but some pictures just have to have that special touch that scrapping brings. So, Opening Day is March 29th and Auntie TM is going to be out there for the big parade, snapping more pics. How 'bout you - is there a child/grandchild/niece/nephew in your life that is starting or carrying on a sport? Spring is the best time to get out there, show your team spirit and take those pictures. Who knows what might inspire your next scrapping project?? BATTER UP!

Hey - you know the best thing about having the blahs??? It sometimes puts you in an introspective frame of mind - lets you feel your pouty side-blusey moods - and opens you up to something new, maybe not so "happy". And that's exactly what happened during my winter blahs. Staring out the window it occured to me how calming the grey, wind-swept sky looked. And how the pattering (not downpouring/drumming loudly on the roof) rain was soothing in a mindless, think of nothing kind of way. So, of course, I started thinking of nothing and came up with a kit just for the winter blahs - and presto (well, not exactly presto, maybe a couple of hours later) "Winter Blahs" was born and I love it. I think I've got the winter blahs........

Yep, it's true.....I think I've got the winter blahs. I've been so busy creating springy kits in bright happy colors, with lovely flowers and cute Easter eggs, that the weather really hasn't been on my mind. But now that I've taken a break and looked outside, it's overcast and gloomy. Uh huh, the blahs. Let's see, if I were to design a new kit called "The Blahs" it would have to be gloomy greys and moody blues, with a little heavy sign white (is that an off-white???) thrown in for contrast. Maybe like those "dog days of summer", the days of winter blahs are the perfect days to pull out those special pictures you've been saving "to do when I have time" and create some great scrapping projects. A lot of you have told me that scrapping gives you a lift and how satisfying it is to have something very special to show for your efforts. Besides, isn't it nice to have something fun to do when skies are dreary and blah? So here's one for you - choose a great picture, something that brings back a good memory, get scrapping and drop me a note to let me know what you've done. Together we'll banish the winter blahs!!!!!

I really wanted to make sure that I have this posted right away so that everyone has the opportunity to join in the FUN!

Scrappin Freestyle has gone to the points system for their challenges. It's a VERY cool system and one that I think is going to be a big hit.

Here's how it works:
Prize levels

0500 pts = $5 Gift Coupon
1000 pts = $10 Gift Coupon
1500 pts = $15 Gift Coupon
2000 pts = $20 Gift Coupon
2500 pts = $25 Gift Coupon

Each participant can take part and 'save' their points up to the maximum of $25 store credit. Then they have to start again. If any participant does 7 challenges through the month (1/2 of them) they will get a bonus of 50 pts. If any participant does all 14 challenges for the month, they will get a bonus of 100 pts.

I currently have 2 Challenges going on at Scrappin Freestyle so I am very excited about this new system.

The first one is my recipe challenge, worth 20 points each, so if you do both challenges, you will earn 40 points.

If your recipes are a mess, and out of order like mine, this could be just the ticket to get you organized. And if you don’t have many recipes but are looking for new things to try, this will be a great resource for you. Here is where you need to start. This challenge will last for 2 weeks. I will give you a small starter kit that you are free to use for your layout if you wish, but you don't HAVE to.

Create a recipe card and upload it to the gallery. Your recipe must be for a Dish you would serve for Easter. It can be a dessert, cookies, main dish, anything you like. Pictures of the recipe are always helpful, but not a must. See the forum HERE for all the information and links.

The second challenge is my Scrap the Month Calendar Challenge, worth 15 points. You have all month to complete this challenge.

Here's how it works. I will provide a starter mini kit for you which will include a calender for the current month. You can either use the mini kit that I provide, the coordinating kit, which will be on sale in the store for the entire month of this challenge, or put the two together. You then upload your calendar to the gallery and link back to it in this thread.

There are SO many possibilities. Every month, I create a calendar for my computers desktop and add all the events for the month. It's a great "at a glance" way to organize. You can create a calendar for the side of your fridge with all your kids events on it as well.

Pirates.....ARG!!!

"Pirates of the Caribbean, Curse of the Black Pearl - Dead Man's Chest - At Worlds End", how can you not love Johnny Depp??? BUT - I now know what that poor merchant ship, plowing its slow ponderous way across the ocean felt like when it was overtaken by low-minded pirates out to plunder its booty for ill-gotten gain. Yes, I have been pirated by low-minded scoundrels who have plundered my booty for their own gain and, I can tell you, I don't like it. I suppose when I started designing scrapping projects and, ultimately, Tallula Moon Designs I thought, in my innocence, that women - ladies - in the scrapping world would be above this sort of thing. But I've been proved wrong and it's a big disappointment. How can there not be enough freebies out there to satisfy even the most voracious scrapper if her funds are low??? Well, Matey, I hope you enjoy the treasure you have stolen and every time you use it you remember that you truly are a low-minded scoundrel.
